# Report groups and reports (Quick guide)

Smartbooks allows you to organize reports using **report groups** and customize individual reports to match your reporting needs.

This section explains **where** to create report groups and **how to access** report editing screens.

### Creating and managing report groups

Report groups are used to organize reports in the reporting overview.

To access report groups:

1. Navigate to **Settings → Reports**
2. On the left side of the screen, you will see all existing report groups
3. From here, you can:
   * Create new report groups
   * Rename existing groups
   * Reorder or remove groups

### Creating reports

Reports are created as **report cards** within a report group.

To create a report:

1. Open a report group
2. Click the **➕ (plus)** icon
3. Select the type of report you want to create (for example: table, chart, or dashboard)

You will automatically be taken to the report editor after selecting a report type.

### Editing reports

To edit an existing report:

1. Open the report
2. Click the **settings icon (⚙️)** in the top-right corner

This opens the report configuration screen where you can adjust the report structure and settings.
