# Creating Modules

To create a module in SmartBooks, follow these steps:

1. **Navigate to the Modules Page:**\
   Go to **Settings** and select the **Modules** page.
2. **Add a New Module:**\
   Click on the **Add New Module** button located at the top right of the page.
3. **Enter Module Details:**\
   You will be prompted to provide an Alias and Name for the module. It is advisable to use a descriptive name that reflects the module's intended use (for example, "FTE Module" for employee-related data). Using the same Alias and Name ensures clarity and consistency.
4. **Save and Reload:**\
   After entering the details, click on the **Add New** button. Once the page reloads, the new module will appear under the Business Models section.
