# Modules

Introduction to Modules

Modules in Smartbooks allow you to define accounts representing various elements of your business, such as seniority levels, products, or software licenses, and specify corresponding subaccounts for detailed data like quantity or price.

Within a module, any subaccounts you create are automatically applied to every new account added, eliminating the need to recreate the model from scratch each time. This modular approach streamlines repetitive data tasks and ensures consistency across your financial data. Additionally, you can further organize your data using attributes (for filtering), and totals (aggregated summaries).

The information from modules can be seamlessly integrated into your budgets and forecasts, making it easy to create dynamic financial plans that adjust as you change product quantities, prices, billability, or any other key metric.
