# Using Metrics in Reports

You can incorporate metrics into your financial reports using the Report Configurator in two ways:

* **As Rows (Outside the P\&L Hierarchy):**\
  When you add metrics as rows, they are placed separately from your main Profit and Loss structure. This option is ideal if you want to display key performance indicators independently from your core financial accounts.
* **As Dynamic Additions (Within the Existing Hierarchy):**\
  Dynamic additions allow you to insert metrics directly into the financial hierarchy defined in the Financial Accounts section. For example, you can create a new dynamic addition and place a single metric, such as a gross margin percentage or EBITDA margin, immediately after a specific GL account within your report.

Both methods are configured in the Report Configurator, ensuring that your financial statements capture all the key performance indicators relevant to your organization while maintaining flexibility in how they are presented.
