# Adding Planning Categories

To add planning categories to your environment, go to **Settings** and select **Planning Categories**. This screen displays a list of available planning categories, each representing a distinct planning scenario, such as “Budget 2024” or “Forecast 2023.”

* **Create From Scratch (Top-Right Button):**\
  Establish an empty planning category where none of the data inputs or formulas from the already existing manual input screens are copied over.
* **Create as a Copy (Top-Right Button):**\
  Duplicate an existing budget, which transfers the formulas used in previous years. This results in a filled-in model where only some parameters and assumptions need to be adjusted.

When you click on a planning category, you are taken to a details screen that provides an overview of its configuration and usage statistics. Here, you can:

* **Copy the Category:**\
  Use the **Copy** button at the top of the screen to duplicate the selected planning category, making it easy to create a new plan based on an existing scenario.
* **Review Usage Statistics:**

  * **Node Formulas:** Shows how many formula-based rules are applied at the category or node level.
  * **Cell Formulas:** Indicates the number of individual cell-level calculations.
  * **Cell Values:** Displays the total number of manually entered or derived values within the category.
