# Unmapped Financial Accounts

## How Financial Accounts end up in the "Unmapped Folder"

#### 1. Mixed Structure in a Subsidiary

Sometimes a subsidiary's subfolder contains both subfolders and independent general ledger (GL) accounts. This mixed structure can lead to consolidation challenges as we do not allow for this behavior in the consolidation, leading to the general ledger accounts being unmapped.\
Solution:

* Create new subfolders for the appropriate categories.
* Alternatively, drag and drop the independent GL accounts to the correct already existing categories.

#### 2. Missing Folder in Consolidation

If a folder present in a subsidiary does not exist in the consolidated entity, the accounts belonging to that folder will remain unmapped. \
Solution:

* Create a subfolder in the consolidation using the same code as the subsidiary’s folder. All unmapped accounts that belong in that folder will automatically be moved into the newly created subfolder.

#### 3. Improper Subfolder Placement

If you create a subfolder in the consolidated entity within a section that originally only contained GL accounts, the system cannot handle having both subfolders and GL accounts on the same level.\
Solution:

* Either remove the misplaced subfolder, or
* Move it out to relocate the newly unmapped accounts back to their proper location.

\
Depending on the specific issue, you can resolve it either at the subsidiary level or directly within the consolidated financial accounts. If any accounts remain unmapped, you can always drag and drop them into the correct location in the consolidation hierarchy.
