# Where You Can Use AI

Once AI is enabled and context has been provided, AI is available in the following places in Smartbooks.

#### AI Controller chat

The AI Controller chat can be opened from the chat window at the bottom-right of your screen.

Ask questions about your financial data in natural language — for example *"What is our revenue per FTE, per entity and for the group?"* The AI Controller combines your data, answers the question, and shows the underlying journal entries behind every figure. Because it works on live data, answers always reflect the current state of your administration.

The chat can also be used for deeper analysis, such as:

* Investigating variances against budget, forecast, or a previous period
* Finding bookings that deviate from the expected pattern, without manually reviewing transaction exports

#### Report analysis

Open any report and click the AI analysis option at the top-right of the screen. The AI generates explanations, insights, and commentary on the figures, useful for automated management commentary on periodic results.

#### Number breakdowns

Right-click on any figure in a report to let the AI break it down. This shows you what a number is made of, so you can quickly see what is driving it, without building a separate report.

#### Support assistant

The in-app support assistant is available through the same chat. It is trained on the Smartbooks documentation and can explain features, workflows, and common questions directly within the product.
