# Upload Portal (Bulk Upload)

The Upload Portal allows users to bulk upload .XLSX and .CSV files containing budget, forecast, or actual data. The following sections describe the data format required for a successful upload.

You can access the Upload Portal as an app via the Application Manager in the top-left corner of the screen.

## Formatting the sheet

The file does not need to follow strict guidelines, but it must include the following:

* A single row containing all headers. The row number does not matter, as long as all headers are on the same row.
* A column with the company code of the entity you want to upload data for. You can find this at the top of the upload portal page for each company.
* A column with the general ledger or subfolder code you want to upload data for. Note that the planning source of the relevant general ledger or subfolder must be set to *input*, otherwise the upload will return an error.
* A column with the business dimension member code (optional). If you want to upload at the business dimension member level, you need to provide the CC code. If no code is provided, we assume you want to upload to the total level.
* Columns for periods 1 through 12 containing the corresponding values.

The result is a sheet that follows a variation of this format:

## Uploading via the upload portal

Once the file is ready, you can upload it through the upload portal. You will be guided through the following steps:

1. Select the row containing the headers (in this case, the first row).
2. Assign the correct columns to the company code, general ledger code (node code), and — if used — the business dimension code (cost center).
3. Assign the correct periods.
4. Upload the data and check whether everything came through correctly.

If you get an error or the values do not appear, first check the Financial Accounts section to confirm that the budget is set up correctly.
