# Excel Add-in

You are able to export smartbooks reports to Excel by downloading the Smartbooks Excel add-in. To install it, you need to follow these steps:

1. Open Excel and go to the start screen.
2. Click on "Add-ins" in the menu bar.
3. Then click on "More add-ins."
4. Type "Smartbooks" in the search bar and add the application to Excel.
5. After adding the application, you will see a new button in your taskbar:
6. Click on the Smartbooks button in the taskbar.
7. Click on "Generate Reports." A window will open asking you to log in to Smartbooks with your usual credentials.
8. After logging in, you will see a list of options:
   * Select the desired entity, the report type, and the columns that we also use in Smartbooks.
9. Click on "Generate." You now have an Excel report that corresponds to the reports in Smartbooks.

Each time you generate a report, the entire Excel sheet is refreshed. Therefore, if you want to make manual adjustments in an Excel sheet and save them, it is important to open a blank sheet before generating a new report.
